Solo exhibition: Cave Inside The Body of ShadowsA kinetic light installation will be shown that transforms the space into an artificial “inverse” sundial. Light mimicking the course of the sun throughout the day, brings portraits to life through an interplay of shadow’s and reflection.
Performance: Shadow Play
In this so-called Telematic Performance through a blend of digital and physical means the performers dance with each other's shadow from the other side of the globe. The performance will be held simultaneously in Amsterdam and Tokyo. Amanantina Jean (Amsterdam) and her shadow will dance live with Daisuke Omiya’s shadow (Tokyo).
The project’s personal phenomenology constitutes an apparatus through which people are invited to reflect on the ways in which space-time distance transforms perceptions of one's identity and relational world.
Daisuke Omiya
Since he was 18, he has been based in NY and working internationally. In 2013, he became the first Japanese artist to win the Emerging Choreographer Award at the Italian International Dance Festival. He was the winner of Jadin Wong Award in 2014. He has been a certified instructor of Sivananda Yoga since 2016. In 2017, he was the finalist at the Internationales Solo Tanz Festival in Germany. Omiya has performed in numer- ous films and videos, including “Wheelchair Dance” directed by Yasuhiro Tamura, HWLS’ “005” directed by Branden Lee, and Piller Point’s “Dreamin”directed by Jacob Krupnick.
Amantina Jean
Amantina Jean is an Amsterdam based performing artist. She started her dance training atage 7, and continued performing on Dutch live television and multiple theaters including theCarré Royal Theater of The Netherlands. She obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts and received a Talent of the Year Award from the Prins BernhardCultuurfonds with which she furthered her training and performance at The Ailey School(part of the multi award winning and historic Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre) in NewYork City.
John van Beek
John van Beek. Born 1992 in Vlaardingen, The Netherlands. Based in The Hague.Van Beek is a composer who focuses on the relational structure of human cognition. Van Beek obtained a Master of Music degree in electronic composition at the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht. Past performances include ‘Pakvis’ (Grasnapolsky Festival, 2019) Group performances include ‘HKU x EYE (Eye Museum Amsterdam, 2018) and ‘De Likt’ (Murakami Festival Rotterdam, 2018) Group exhibitions include ‘Multiverse’ (Dutch Design Week Eindhoven,2017) Awards include ‘Rotterdam Music Award – Best Single’ 2015 and ‘Grote Prijs van Nederland– Best Musician’ (Amsterdam, 2013).
CAVE-AYUMIGALLERYでは2023年3月4日(土)より、ヴィンセント・ライタス『影たちの中の洞窟』 を開催いたします。 このプロジェクトは、展覧会とパフォーマンスで構成されており、いずれも(混合)アイデンティ ティ、人間関係、デジタルコミュニケーションがそれらに及ぼす影響の現象論が中心となっています。 本展ではデジタルコミュニケーションが唯一のコミュニケーション手段となった時に、他者の経験の仕 方が変容すること、アイデンティティの無実体性を表現する方法として「影」を使います。ライタスのインスピレーションの源は自身の生い立ちです。ライタスは中国系インドネシア人とオランダ人のルー ツを持ち、日本に8年ほど住んでいました。これら3つのアイデンティティは、共有の文化遺産の担い手 として展示とパフォーマンスのすべてに関係します。影の使用は、「影」と「想像」を意味するインド ネシアの影絵芝居「ワヤン・クリ」からの着想を得ています。 展覧会『影たちの中の洞窟』 ギャラリーでの個展ではキネティック・ライト・インスタレーションを発表します。空間をライトを使い展示空間を人工的な「逆さ日時計」に変容させます。一日の太陽の動きを模した光は、影と反射の交わりによっ て、天井から吊るされたポートレートに命を吹き込みます。
パフォーマンス『SHADOW PLAY』会期中、デジタルとフィジカルを融合したテレマティック・パフォーマンスでアムステルダムと東京で同 時に開催され、オンラインで繋がり、ダンサーは地球の裏側から互いの影と一緒に踊ります。
大宮 大奨
ダンサー、振付家、映像作家。18歳よりNYを拠点に活動。2013年伊インターナショ ナル·ダンス·フェ スティバルにて日本人初新人振付家として優勝。2014年米NYにてジェイディン·ワン·アワード受賞。帰 国後日本を拠点にフリーランスのダンサー・パフォーマーとして、シディ・ラルビ・シェルカウイ、イン バル・ピント&アブシャロム・ポラック、エラ・ホチルド、辻本知彦、大植真太郎、柳本雅寛、長谷川 寧、大巻伸嗣、蓮沼執太、ジャン=ポール・グード、ライアン・ハフィントンなどの作品に出演、振付 に携わる。東京オリンピック2020年競技大会・開会式にて森山未來氏に振付。近年では映像作家として ダンス主体の作品を残し、監督と振付家を両立する映像表現を発表する。
Amantina Jean (アマンティナ・ジーン)
アムステルダムを拠点に活動するパフォーミングアーティスト、ダンス講師、そして今後映画監督として 活躍予定。オランダの生放送テレビ、オランダのカレ・ロイヤル・シアターなど複数の劇場でパフォー マンスを続ける。パフォーミングアーツの学士号を取得し、Prins Bernhard CultuurfondsからTalent of the Year Awardを受賞した後、ニューヨークのThe Ailey School(数々の賞を受賞し、歴史ある Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatreの一部)でさらに訓練とパフォーマンスを積み重ねた。
