BREATHING IN/EX-TERIOR is an installation of fabrics which uses the venue’s first floor structure. Wind blows from fans positioned strategically in the exhibition, which move interactively with the audience. With the texture and materiality of the fabric, the programming of the fans and lights, this work creates an immersive and soft experience: what the artist calls “intimacy”. At the same time, this work, designed accord- ing to the space of the venue, is synchronized with the sound of the artist breathing. This piece generates intimate breathings that inhale as artist’s body and exhale as public.

《Breathing IN/EX-terior》は、大きな布によるインスタレーション作品である。この布の構造体は、展示空間に設置されている送風機によって、鑑賞者の動きとインタラクティブに作用し、揺れ動く。布のテクスチャやマテリアリティ、風や照明のプログラミングによって、本作は鑑賞者を包み込むような柔らかい体験、すなわち作家の追求する「インティマシー（親密性）」を生み出す。また、会場全体を構造化した本作品は、作家の呼吸音とも同期されている。こうした布、風、音、光のコンビネーションにより、鑑賞者は展示空間にありながら、作家の体内に潜り込んでしまったかのような感覚に陥ることとなる。
